Hi Everyone!

As you may have heard, this month we are making up for lost time and decided to release 2 collections! Thats' right! we have the BarnYard Buddies and Forest Critters Collection.

So without further ado, here's my projects from these collection:

First up is a card using Orest the owl from the Forest Critter Collection:

i wanted to focus on the whole nocturnal aspect, but couldnt find anything suitable stamps, so I did my best and freecut a tree with branches and outline it with copics. I also wanted to give some dimension to the card, so i punched a circle on the front and added a yellow insert inside to make a moon look.

and the other project:

The sentiment "Congratulations on your new ducking" got me thinking about a baby card. So I used one a fav go-to templates and made a onsie card.

I really wanted a simple and unisex card so I stayed with safe with yellow and blues :)

This month we've asked Rachelle Anne Miller to design some lovely wedding stamps for us. If you have heard, lil' ol' me will be getting married in October, and what better way to do all my wedding preparations and get into full wedding mode than to release a wedding set! lol.

Now, let me show you what I did with these stamps:

This is a SAMPLE card I made that may be used for our wedding. Mr. PWCO isn't overly big on layers and frills, so he like simple simple layout. When I was looking at some wedding portfolios from various photographers, I saw some technique in which all the pics were black and white, with only a focal point (usually flowers) in color. When Mr. PWCO and I saw it, we laughed and thought it was kinda corny. So i thought i would make a similar technique just to give him a chuckle. Inside, i wrote:

"Hoping we can grow Gray together" amongst other things.

It's my first B/W copic-ing, hope it looks ok!

And here's my wedding colors:

Yes, you didnt go colorblind.. theres ORANGE - ya, see what a wedding can do to you?!? (for those who don't know, im highly allergic to the color orange :) )

I know it's a little tropical for a Oct wedding, but I can't help it as we are going to HAWAIII (!!!) for our destination wedding.. so when in Rome..(or honolulu) right?

Mr PWCO and I are truly unconventional. So everything we have done for our wedding have been outside from tradition. Take for example, our guestbook - we don't want one. It's not so much we dont care who came to celebrate with us, but lets be honest, how often will you open a guest book and say "oh, so and so came"... while we still want a record of who came (so that we can tell ourselves that we have friends) we were playing with guestbook alternatives. So I thought, if i made an altered frame, and then get our guest to sign it, we can at least hang it in our home. SO here's the mock version of my frame:

Here's the first project!!!

(sorry for the ugly picture, I was trying really hard not to get any reflection)

My first project uses the Up, Up and Away stamp. I wanted to do some sort of 3D, so dug around for some alterable items, and found an 4x6 acylic frame. Using the frame, I made an altered post it holder, along with a matching pen!

Introducing: Swimmingly Yours. Isn't this image the cutest?!? I think this has to be my favorite one from this collection, although Up, up and away is REALLY cute too!

This is a quick card I whipped out an upcoming birthday for a friend. He's really into swimming, so hopefully, he can appreciate this card :)

SO this month we discovered Abby got sick. All that Partying last month, and not enough rest got her in trouble! Luckily, she recovered overnight, and made it to our Hop party! We get to see her whole process of getting sick and getting better, because it IS A Day in the Life of Abigail C.!

Here's the first project!!!

What better way to get better than to have some good' ol fashion Chicken Noodle Soup!

Here I made soup slider. Bascially it's a decorated pocket card :) THis project was inspired by the crazy craft sales I was in last christmas. my buddy made these and sold like HOTCAKES!

This project is perfect way to say you care!

Hi everyone~

Yes, its been awhile since I last posted. theres valid reason.

I've officially started my Wedding planning..

I've been engaged WAYYY too long, and due to some family issues (Mr. CFO's mom vs. my mom) we postponed our wedding a gazillion times.

Now both Mr. CFO and I are fed up and wanted to be done with it, so we're going to get married - one way or another...
hence the MIA.. but fear not, I have been sorta crafting as I have take GDT roll of PWCO this month, and here are the projects I did so far:

And yes folks, thats ORANGE!!! ARG! I figured I have to use the kit so might as well use the colors I dont like to get it out of the way! lol. Actually, I think the colors really brighten things up and give it some fresh vibe (as opposed to the yucky weather we have here).

When it comes to blog releases, I tend to make more simplier cards so I can really showcase the stamps. Using one of our PWCO Sunday Sketches (#67) - I was able to make this card in a jiffy! (noticed that little sentiment? - yup i cut it out directly from the logo that is on the bottom of each patterned paper.. i thank DT Steph for teaching me that!)

MY WOYWW for this week

its actually WOYCW - whats on your carpet wednesday.. lol

I swear I'm going to clean up my mess.. but until then, I have to show you other neat places you can craft..

this week - my floor! lol

Every year Mike and I team up and make crafting items for our co-workers. This is the only time Mike actually crafts with me. And when I say crafting, I mean cleaning the table, sorting out the names, writing tags, stapling etc. But he claims its crafting nonetheless.

This year, because of all the craft fairs, we kept our gifts really simple. I've stamped on kraft gift bags and on some scrap cardstock. Inside the bag contains, hand sanitizer, candy and LOTS of chocolate.

All our coworkers like it, its personal, and most of all cost effective.. (i think we spent $2 on each bag or something)

for those interested, I will start posting my thoughts on the craft fair in a few days or so.. so stay tuned.

WOYWW and i've been kicked out!

Ok.. maybe a little over dramatic on my part.

As Christmas approaches, so does the festivities and decorations. Mike has been diligently transforming our condo in a winter wonderland (i.e: having the place look like both santa and the elves puked all over). By doing so, I had to clean up my craft room, kitchen table and even the coffee table!!!!

So rather than cleaning and then making a mess at my house, I started to bring more (smaller) projects to work on during lunch. - I know mike can't kick me out of there! lol

here's my on location WOYWW for this week:

I caved and bought meself a cricut expression awhile back. I know I own a store, but trust me, i have self control. I never "NEEDED" a cricut before, but after one look at the Create-a-Critter Cartridge, i knew i would give in! Come on, look at those penguins!!!!

I'm working on some christmas boxes with these cut outs, and because I dont want to get kicked out of my office, i didn't bring the complete project to share. will do so next week i promise!

WOYWW and Craft fair angels...

It's been awhile since I've posted! yikes!

I really miss my friends over at WOYWW, so i decided to shamelessly take a pic of my working area. If you have been following my blog, you will know that I am in the middle of my craft fair season, and the whole place is a mess. This includes my office, kitchen table, and even my WORK OFFICE...

and now the latest: My coffee table - yes, how I spread - like a plague..

Here's what my coffee table looks like - actually you cant even tell its a table..

I've made these as a last minute craft fair item. We're heading to a kids' craft fair and needed affordable items for the kids to buy as presents

Here's a close up of them. they are really just hersheys with a pom pom on the front

and ribbon wings at the back..

I stuck them on a white c/s that's shaped as a cloud, and throwing them in a cellophane and topper.. - forgot to take a pic of that.

you think the kids will like it? how much should I charge a pack? oi.. i hate pricing!

I'll try to take more pics of stuff i made for the fair, but I'm so busy! - between me and you, I only managed to sneak this post because my boss is in a meeting lol...

More craft fair items.. and PaperCard Kits from PWCO

Hi Everyone!

I thought it was time to post something, and over at the PWCO I’ve hi-jacked today’s Kit focus because I’m the boss and I can do whatever I want to. lol.. jk!

You know it’s all about craft fairs for me lately, so I again, I have a little craft fair project I made using this month’s PaperCard Kit.

Again, sorry for the crappy picture.. I couldnt turn on flash because the cellophane packaging would reflect.
This is an altered 9×6 clipboard I made for the craft fair. I've used 1.5 sheets of the 6×6 paper from the kit, and covered the seams with the border bonus sheet from this month.

I’ve rolled up a piece of scrap patterned paper to make a matching pen. (which by the way, after rolling a couple dozens of pens, I’ve become a pro at it – so much it looks like im rolling a *insert a word to describe a happy herb*) haha

Added some scrap (i know, its all about scraps for me) ribbon to decorate the clipboard, and some cardstock with more strips from the 12×12 border sheet as a topper, and threw it in a cello bag as packaging.

On another note, i had a few more craft fairs the past couple of weeks, and all in all, the last two were a complete bust. I sold enough to make the table cost, but not enough to cover my starbucks and gas money for the day lol.. I blame it on the cold weather we are having, or maybe my goodies aren't as appealing.. who knows?!?

I have 2 more this Friday, Sat and Sun - weather is supposed to be be better, but it's Grey Cup weekend (being held in Edmonton) - so either the wives are going to host the parties, or they will escape from the their husbands.. i'll let you know what happens...

DAY 14 last day of Birthday bonanza!

im the final person to debut one of my favorite stamps. It's pretty hard to pick a fav because im SO biased, but i figured because it's the holiday season, i should pick a festive stamp.

for this project, i picked Oh Christmas tree! to use!

here's my project - also one of the MANY items Im selling at my craft fairs!

This is a bauble I made for the craft fair. I used all of the 6 RAM xmas stamps to make these baubles. It comes with a matching box and tissue paper. The box is from a SU scrapping kit I hoarded (from winter 07) - i figured it's time to let go lol.

needless to say, I have been a busy bee. And my office is so messy that I couldnt find my camera to take a pic there. On a side note, my first fair last weekend went VERY well. I was pleasantly surprised. Alot of great compliments, and nice sales.. and to top it off, i even sold some of the PWCO Stamps! ( I displayed them purely so people can see that i used "those stamps" to make alot of my sale items)

WOYWW for this week.. and it's a messy one

My desk is DEFINTELY messy this week.. but because of that I get to participate in this week's WOYWW lol...

If you have been following my blog, you will know that I am going to participate in 6 craft fairs this month. And trust me, it's a mad scramble. My first fair is this coming saturday, and i have 2 different things (of a large quantity) to sell.. Where variety counts more than quantity, i can tell you im in ALOT of trouble lol.

so needless to say, at my work desk is a variety of 5% half done projects, and 95% mess... gulp..

Sometimes being forgetful can be a good thing

Normally, Lisa (my DT gal) would be debuting her sketch card sample today over at the PWCO blog, but because Im a dork, I didnt really communicate our switcheroo to the team, and so ya…. I’m making up the sample today and so gave Lisa a day off… it actually is a good thing because it's been forever since i made a card..

And the sketch for this week is:

So, here’s my card…

My friends all know that i don’t do anything traditional. The winter cards I’ve done this season has all been bright colors, so i wanted to visit the other end of the spectrum.

I wanted to give our snowmen a little vintage-y feel to it, so i tried some yellows.. Of course i didnt find any ric rack ribbon that matches the colors, so I used some white ribbon and colored it with my copics.. you’ll be surprised the amazing range of colored ribbon you can get with that!
I think the card turned out ok… what do you think?

kept this card really simple and no frills because I really wanted to focus on the cutest stamp EVER!. I wanted to represent some ethnicity (hehe) and made the boy abit more asian..Perfect for giving away to my family A couple of layers, a few poking (the card not me) and voila! a xmas card!

WOW! what a night! we had a great release over at PaperWorks Co.! It was awesome! ALot of great chatter, great projects and fun fun fun all around!!!

so im posting a couple of projects i made for the release.. I must admit, i was super busy so i made rather really simple cards :)

Originally, I wanted to do the same ol’ same ol classic and scallop combo, but then I thought, why try something different? And different it was. Not only i used the most coolest retro xmas paper from Echo Park, I used the Diamond nesties to cut out the image because i probably will get the angle all wrong if I free hand, and created this card.

So my girl Sheena is playing along the WOYWW last week, and i thought it's only fitting that I play along - afterall, my blog title is Peggy's Messy Desk... lol

After seeing some of the ladies stations, i felt better.. so im not the only one with the messy (errr i mean creative-building) desk.

Normally, its a little cleaner (because i don't have time to craft) but since I'm getting ready for the stamp release this Friday, I had to whip out my copics.. And yes, I have all the colors... - be jealous.. really jealous.. hahahah jk

Sugar and Spice!

Today I figured I would hit two birds with two stone and use the PaperCard kit with a sketch from Splitcoaststampers (SC301). Here's my card:

AHHHH the Orange

So normally, my dt team would be doing samples for the PaperCard kits this month, but I haven't played with the kit since lasy year. I wanted to brush up on my crafting, so i asked the ladies if i can have the first couple of turns.. so for today and wednesday, I will be showing off my humble project.

I really wanted to play with this image, but i knew i had to use orange and LOTS of it, with one hand i covered my eyes, and had copics on the other hand! lol \

And to make my life a little easier, i've used PWCO Sketch from this week

I cheat and steal when I craft

Ok so that was a little dramatic. But I did cheat and steal for this card.

So when I have free time, which isn't often, I tried to get ahead and craft - or at the very least, start coloring images. That way, I can use my stash and make a quick card when I need to :)

here's a sample of the colored image:

And then I used the image and made a card using SCS weekly sketch (SC300)

I kept the card pretty simple and didnt have alot of embellishments because the DP was busy itself. And here are the colors I used:

My friend Amanda gave me some Halloween paper so I can use it for PWCO. But the people who know me, knows that I don't celebrate Halloween, nor am I really fond of orange so my DP stash is limited. So i stole Amanda's paper lol. THANKS girl! lol

A night of new stamps and lots of cheetos.

SO last night, we had one of the most wickedest chat parties. For those who missed out on the release party last night, make sure you check out the blog at the store for the new images.

At the chat, it wasn't so much the release of the stamps and projects were the hi-lights.. rather it was the food we were talking about. The regulars know I have a crazy obsession and ritual... starbucks during the launch, and my celebratory noodles after. This time I added a splash of spicy cheetos in the mix.

When we were in Vancouver, we decided to cross the border to get some junk food..

We started with some ICY.. omg.. its sooo good - think a slurpee but with fizz... and look, it can even act as a cosmetic enhancement!

and it matches my glasses lol

I don't know why we dont have them, but the States got some awesome SPICY cheetos.. We drove to Target and loaded up my cart with junkfood. here's the stash..

And I kid you not, but the Target lady dubbed us the Cheeto Bandits.. -it was only 15 large bags..

For the ladies south of the border scratching your heads - don't judge... i should introduce you to our Aero Bars and Ketchup Chips... then we'll see who's laughing lol

Sorry for the delay.. I have been busy at work, and didnt have a chance to post more stuff on our Van trip. Of course, some lurker (im not going to say who, but you know who you are lol) commented, "hey, i want more pics" .. so here I am!

Despite the popular belief, Vancouver doesn't really rain much.. ok, who am I kidding?!? i guess we got REALLY lucky when we went as it only rained one day during the entire week we were there. The nicest day was when we were at Granville island. And you know its a great day when seaguls sit next to you, praying you leave some scraps behind.

here are some pics.

We were in a rush, but boy were there LOTS of artsy stuff... the banner says it all!

To be honest, I've been to SP like a million times, but always ended up walking around the beach. So when Mike said, "lets go to the Aquarium", I was slightly interested. - yes thats me putting a front, refusing to succumb to being a tourist in my birthplace.

I must say, the acquarium was alot bigger than I remembered, and there was ALOT of things to see. I guess that's the least thing they can do, considering the admission was $30/person. You know how much food I can eat in Van with $60 bucks? - more on that later..

So rather than going ON and ON, i'll show some pics..

Inside, we were totally lost, there were different rooms and venues all around us. From Belugas, to frogs, there's so much going on.

We watched the Beluga show:

the whole time, I was sing in my head "baby beluga in the deep blue sea..."

We also went indoors to take some more sealife pics..

After the sealife, we proceeded to the tropical zone, were you can see crocodiles, frogs, and butterflies...

So even though I would never admit it (IRL), I actually had a blast at the Aquarium. Lesson of the day.. go and explore.. even if its somewhere you have been before, you are bound to learn and see something new :)

So a little tidbit about me...I'm originally from Vancouver, BC Canada. I moved to Edmonton when I was young - and yes, I blame my folks for our migration from warm and sunny Van to the miserable and cold winters of Edmonton.

So needless to say, when I do go to Vancouver, I don't do the tourist-y things.

Recently, my fiance Mike and I (along with my sister) went to visit Van again. Since Mike was born and raised in Edmonton, I agreed to take him around to the "tourist attractions" So I'm going to spend a few days blogging about the dorky adventures in Vancouver.

Today was totally a blur. Have you ever been so busy that you couldnt remember if you took a bathroom break? yep.. that was me.. lol

I really wanted to make a card today just as a stress relief, but as you can see, I'm still up working on this and that..

SC294 with A Day at the Beach

It's not often I craft. Ironic I know. But with the store, work and just daily things, im pooped! So KUDOS to those ladies that can seem to handle it all. You either have awesome time management or craft REAL fast! lol.

When I do want to craft, I do try to play along the sketch challenges on SCS. Roxie is awesome in organizing this weekly event, so I always look forward to Tuesday nights :)

Yesterday, SCS posted a multi-layer sketch - SC294. It looks fantastic, but I cringed the minute I saw the sketch. 6 LAYERS? wow.. thats alot of paper! But what gives? so I momentarily unhoard and whipped out the new Echo Park Paper, and came up with this:

First Day of My Personal Blog Post.

Hello Everyone, welcome to my personal blog. I have been blogging for years, but it has always been about my alter ego (PWCO). I figured it's time for me to actually have something for me, and consequently create a split personality - separating me and PWCO lol.

To be honest, there is something more about me than just a store, so it's time for me to introduce myself to you.

My name is Peggy, or Peg for short.

I'm past the age where I can safely and (proudly) declare my real age, so for now, im XX years old. I graduated with a Commerce degree in which I hard use in my "real" job.

So why the "From the (Messy) Desk of Peggy L?
Ask my fiance, Mike... and my dog Dau Dau... they'll probably be able to enlighten you. Will you ever see my office? well.. let me ask you.. would YOU ever show your messy room to your guests? ya.. i didnt think so ;)

What can you expect out of this blog? - To be honest i'm not sure. Craft projects? probably. Venting? most likely. Random tidbits.. MOST DEFINITELY.
